Stopgap is seeking an Access Worker to support Hannah Sampson, a Senior Dance Artist with Stopgap who has Down’s syndrome, during rehearsals for our new production Lived Fiction.

Stopgap Dance Company is seeking an Access Worker to support Hannah Sampson, a Senior Dance Artist who has Down’s syndrome, during rehearsals for our new production Lived Fiction. Hannah’s role includes rehearsing and performing in Stopgap’s productions; planning and teaching workshops; taking part in discussions; attending meetings and writing blogs and articles.

This short-term contract is primarily to support Hannah during the creation process of Lived Fiction, Stopgap’s new indoor touring work. The role would suit those interested in issues surrounding social inclusion of Disabled people, and/or gaining professional experience in inclusive performing arts, contemporary dance, technical theatre, or arts management. However, it is important that the candidates can demonstrate being a calm, supportive, rational, caring, patient, generous and nurturing individual.

Contract: This is a short term fixed-term contract from 12th September to 14th November. There may be a potential for this contract to be extended, but this is dependent on funding. This is a full-time post. There will be no overtime pay, but the company offers Time Off In Lieu.

Remuneration: Up to £23,200 per annum (£1,950 per month before tax and other deductions). Travel expenses will be covered, and where overnight stay is required accommodation and subsistence will be provided. The postholder may come on PAYE or arrange this work on a freelance basis.
