RMB Saint Petersburg Summer Intensive 2027 offers professional ballet students the opportunity to train in the historic studios of the Vaganova Ballet Academy, in Russia’s cultural capital and a historic centre of classical ballet. Led by current teachers of the Vaganova Ballet Academy, the programme combines intensive classical ballet training, repertoire and complementary disciplines, concluding with a Final Gala at the Academy’s school theatre.

Admission by audition. Full and partial scholarships available through the RMB Audition Tour. Places are limited.

Saint Petersburg is RMB’s classic destination for professional ballet students. Classes take place in the historic studios of the Vaganova Ballet Academy, the cradle of the Vaganova Method, under the guidance of experienced teachers. The intensive concludes with a Final Gala at the Academy’s school theatre. An optional cultural programme introduces students to Saint Petersburg’s rich ballet heritage, from the Mariinsky and Mikhailovsky theatres to the city’s museums. The course is officially licensed by the Vaganova Ballet Academy.

TEACHERS

The RMB faculty brings together current and licensed teachers of the Vaganova Ballet Academy and experienced ballet pedagogues with extensive teaching and professional stage experience.

SPECIAL GUESTS & PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

The intensive includes masterclasses, meetings and talks with invited ballet artists and representatives of professional ballet institutions.

Students also have the opportunity to participate in the official audition for the Vaganova Ballet Academy’s International Trainee Programme.

FINAL GALA

• Final Gala — Vaganova Ballet Academy School Theatre. Students present the results of their intensive training through a performance at the Academy’s school theatre.

DURATION & PROGRAMMES

• Professional Programme 3 weeks: 27 June – 18 July 2027 (ages 10–19)
• Observation Programme for Teachers 1, 2 or 3 weeks

METHODICAL PROGRAM INCLUDES

Ballet, Pointe / Male Technique, Repertoire, Acting, Character, Pas de Deux, Contemporary, Gymnastics, Stage Practice

• Professional Programme: up to 6 hours of training per day

All students are divided into groups depending on their level and age.

IN ADDITION

Small groups of up to 16 students, masterclasses and meetings with invited ballet professionals, Ballet Nutrition classes, open classes for parents, English translation of classes, professional photo and video report, physiotherapy assistance by prior approval and appointment, and diplomas.

OFFICIAL ACCOMMODATION

Optional accommodation is available for students aged 14+ at the Vaganova Ballet Academy Historical Residence, subject to availability. The package includes full board, 24-hour supervision by bilingual group leaders and an optional cultural programme with visits to Saint Petersburg’s theatres and museums, depending on the schedule.

AUDITIONS & SCHOLARSHIPS

Admission to RMB Summer Intensives is through the RMB Audition Tour 2026–27, which also provides opportunities to receive full or partial scholarships. RMB allocates approximately €60,000 annually to scholarships and financial aid, supporting talented students and families who need financial assistance.

• Online group auditions: 13 Dec 2026, 16 Jan 2027.
• Individual online auditions & Video auditions: Flexible dates.

Recommended audition deadline: 31 January 2027.

To be considered for a scholarship or financial aid, applicants must pass a qualifying audition and complete enrolment, including the contract and prepayment, by 31 January 2027.
