London International Dance Intensive 2020

LIDI aims to celebrate contemporary dance in all its diverse forms by offering dancers the opportunity to meet high-profile choreographers outside of the traditional audition/company environment.

We are the UK’s newest artist-led dance intensive, pulsing from the heart of London. With movement as our motivation, we are committed to cross-border exchange and engagement. LIDI aims to celebrate contemporary dance in all its diverse forms by offering dancers the opportunity to meet high-profile choreographers outside of the traditional audition/company environment.

Taking place in August, professional dancers will engage in 44 hours of dancing with 5 choreographers with a strong artistic practice and formidable choreographic portfolios. The workshops are designed to give the dancer a chance to develop as an artist, and give a broad insight into different working methods and practices which reflect today’s working conditions.

We offer a diverse mix of everything contemporary dance has to offer today including; improvisation practices, movement composition, repertoire, somatic research, experimental states and voice/text work.

The workshops move within the functional, amongst the revolutionary, inside of the devised and outside of the consciousness; whilst tracing the limits and touching the unknown.

We aim to act as a strong bridge between the UK and our European neighbours, by widening and deepening a community in which dancers can connect, share practice and celebrate movement.
