Dancing the Silence

The retreat will take place in the magical atmosphere of the Austrian Mountains of Tirol as Interactive Lab and will give the possibility to participate to a virtual performance recorded with 3D – Motion-Capture-technology and streamed into a virtual environment designed by students of the University of Innsbruck ./studio 3 – Institut für experimentelle Architektur, as part of the seminar “Virtual Reality” by Valerie Messini and Damjan Minovski.

“Dancing the Silence” has been conceived as an interactive Lab during the time of the quarantine, out of the need to overcome the unexpected breakdown of social communication and to find a “different” way to interact
not only without physical contact but also free of misunderstandings and judgements.

The retreat is open to movement lovers coming from all over the world and from different artistical experience of movement, contemporary dance, hip hop, break-dance, parkour, martial arts, circus, and physical theatre.
Participants will be asked just to bring their own expression and fantasy. Improvisation and spontaneous composition will be the focus of the workshop, dance as the timeless and spaceless interpretation of real life.
