Description

FAÍCC is a course directed to all of those who have a solid background in dance and want to deepen in a process oriented towards professionalization in the areas of interpretation and choreography.

The course promotes the acquisition and development of knowledge and competences in interpretation and creation of contemporary choreography, combining the incentive for personal research with training in dance and choreography composition, conducted by various teachers, creators and performers.

This course allows for the development of a performer that is also creative, promoting individual work as an interrogative practice and an act of collaboration, in dialogue with other artists and colleagues.

The focus of this course lies in the evolutionary process of the participants, since there is space for the construction of individual or co-created creations, cocreated pieces ou works ou choreographies and the possibility for those to be presented.

The online Applications for the Intensive Course in Interpretation and Choreography 2020 (FAÍCC’20) are now open! Directed to all of those who have a solid background in dance and want to deepen in a process oriented towards professionalization in the areas of interpretation and choreography.

Happening between February and July of 2021 – a total of 21 weeks (with 1 week of break) – the next edition of FAÍCC was readapted in order to keep up with the current circumstances: having reduced costs and a shorter runtime, with more online modules.

Every year, Companhia Instável invites national and international renowned professionals to lead a course module, promoting a close relationship between pairs. In this context, the dancers will have the opportunity to work their artistic languages and contemporary approaches to the body, movement and space and, at the same time, develop skills in areas such as dramaturgy, production, video dance and performing techniques.

Considering the evolution and professional qualification of the students – and with excellent results in the integration of our graduates in the professional field – collaborative creations are developed during the course with the potencial to be presented to an audience through partnerships established with various cultural structures and professional internship opportunities. At the end of the training, students will have a public presentation of the final co-creations at Teatro Municipal do Porto – Campo Alegre.

The course looks for the integration of the students in the work field, having as a direct result in the last four years the integration of 4 students in new creations of Companhia Instável; many former students were selected to work with some Portuguese choreographers – as interns and professional dancers; 18 students were selected to present their own creations on Palcos Instáveis, in Teatro Campo Alegre; among other exemples of internships and work opportunities.

FAÍCC program has been growing every year, aiming to position itself as a reference in contemporary dance training. Since 2013, and throughout the 8 editions already held, the program’s has been keeping and creating various partnerships and adapting it’s curriculum to the necessities of the students and artistic environment, receiving more and more foreign students

SCHOLARSIPS
On previous editions, portuguese students, or with a tax residence in Portugal, received a 40% or a 60% scolarship from Fundação GDA. At the moment, we cannot guarantee that the same will happen for the 2021 edition of FAÍCC.
