KUTE Call For Choreographers

Call for

2 choreographers, minimum age 28, living in Italy or abroad, with proven experience as dancers in contemporary dance companies and at least 1 choreographic work completed.

THE CALL

The goal of the project is to select 2 choreographers who will be offered the opportunity to create a new project.  

The project will be realized with the dancers from the international advanced dance program SPECIFIC Athletic and Artistic Training for Contemporary Dancers, directed by Loris Petrillo. This year, the dancers come from India, France, Portugal, Chile, Israel, Brazil, Italy, UK, Canada, USA, Switzerland, Russia, Poland and Spain.

KUTE is a project by Loris Petrillo, organized by Anonima Teatri within NotAcademy, in collaboration with Twain Centro di Produzione Danza.

THE PROJECT

The selected choreographers will work for a period of 5 days, from Monday to Friday, for a maximum of 5 and a half hours per day.

Selected choreographers will receive a fee, accommodation, and travel expenses coverage.

The choreographers will be required to provide:
a 1-hour class at the beginning of each day, followed by the creation of a new piece with a total duration between 8 and 15 minutes.

The creation dates are as follows:

• a week in November 2024 for the first choreographer, with 1 presentation scheduled for Friday of the same week, and one possible presentation  on Saturday, December 14th, 2024;

• a week in February 2025, for the second choreographer, with 1 presentation scheduled for Friday of the same week, and one possible presentation on Saturday, May 17th 2025

The choreographers will not be required to be present for the possible presentations in December and May.

Rehearsals and presentations will take place in Tuscania (province of Viterbo) – Italy, at the Supercinema.
