Open Professional Ballet Summer Intensive 2020 in Budapest

The Open Professional Summer Intensive 2020 will be held in Budapest between 29th June – 11th July 2020.
The course is designed for aspiring ballet dancers aged between 9 – 18, who wish to strengthen and deepen their technical knowledge and competence to become dance professionals.

About

The course follows the Vaganova teaching method and is lead by fully qualified and experienced Ballet Masters. Due to the limited number of places available (we work with a maximum of 12 students per group), all prospective students will be required to send video audition or ballet photographs to be assessed by our Team for places on the course

The Summer Intensive will be conducted in English as we are committed to provide students with an international experience that stimulates a professional ballet environment, one that all aspiring ballet dancers will have to cope with in the demanding world of professional ballet. Our teachers however speak Hungarian, Russian, German and Italian so it is not a must to be fluent in English as we will ensure that children of all ages and language skills will get the maximum out of their training with us.

In order to train well versed professional future dancers, our Summer Intensive focuses on the following subjects:

1. Classical Ballet Technique (Vaganova Method, 90 minutes per day)
   Classical Ballet is the foundation of all dances, detailed and structured knowledge of technique is imperative for all aspiring dancers.
2. Modern Dance (90 minutes per day)
   Choreographers, theatre directors, company directors and company ballet masters around the world require that all dancers have varied experience and knowledge of modern dance techniques to complement their classical ballet skills. To be a well versed dance professional on an international scale dancers must acquire modern dance technique from an early age.
3. Pointe Technique / Jump Technique for boys (60 minutes twice a week)
   An essential part of classical ballet training is Pointe Technique for girls. Our Summer Intensive provides dancers the opportunity to enhance their pointe skills with our specialised Ballet Master. For boys jump technique will be explored.
4. Introduction to Stage Performance/Acting (90 minutes twice a week)
   To create rounded dancers, we believe that access to stage and learning stage performance and acting skills are an integral part of a dancer’s professional development. Our Acting Coach has years of experience in developing aspiring dancers for stage performances.
5. Make Up Class (90 minutes twice a week)
   Our professional make up artist has been trained in Hollywood make up techniques for films, stage performances and theatre. She will be pleased to teach our students a tricks of the trade during our Summer Intensive.
6. Choreography (60 minutes three times a week)
   In order to further our students’ ballet careers, our Ballet Masters create a choreography during the course that our students perform in front of their parents on the last day of the Summer Intensive. We know that learning choreography and performing are integral parts of a dancer’s lives and provide an excellent opportunity for growth and self expression.

We believe that in order to train healthy and happy professional ballet dancers for the future we must create a positive learning environment for our aspiring dancers. Our Ballet Masters hold the highest degree of qualifications and have decades of experience working with young people aiming to enable them to become the best dancers they can be. While we demand high levels of commitment, focus and professionalism from our teachers and students alike, the main objective of our Ballet Masters is to cultivate the love of dance and allow students to walk away from our courses with solid knowledge and improved technique.

Our Ballet Masters take pride in providing our students with strong technical knowledge during our Summer Intensive Programmes. We teach our students not only how to perform the exercises to perfection, but we place great emphasis on cementing their technical knowledge so that they consciously acquire the foundations of classical ballet and modern dance.

All students will receive a Certificate of Completion and a Personal Appraisal & Evaluation will be provided by our Ballet Masters.
