Join Boston Dance Theater for five days of movement research, artistic mentorship, and collaborative creation.
Unlike a traditional dance intensive, WIP invites participants to work side by side with BDT’s professional artists in a non-hierarchical creative laboratory.
Each morning, Founder & Director Jessie Jeanne Stinnett and BDT’s Core Members facilitate choreographic investigations drawn from the company’s evolving artistic practices. Afternoons are dedicated to peer-to-peer co-creation, with participants and company artists generating original material together.
Guided by BDT’s Equitable Guidelines for Discussion, artists exchange ideas, challenge creative habits, and develop new approaches to making dance.
The week culminates in an informal showing.
