Goh Ballet’s The Nutcracker returns to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre this December 2026. Register now to audition for Vancouver’s very own annual Nutcracker production.

Aspiring dancers aged 6+ are invited to audition on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

This distinguished opportunity offers performers from across Metro Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, and Vancouver Island to refine and display their artistry on stage alongside internationally celebrated guest artists in our timeless holiday tradition.

AUDITIONS DETAILS

Eligibility: Dancers Ages 6+ to Professional
Date: Sunday, April 26, 2026
Location: Goh Ballet Academy
2345 Main Street, Vancouver, B.C., V5T 3C9

Parking & Drop Off:
Due to ongoing construction with the city’s Broadway Subway Project, drop-off spaces in front of the building are limited.

• Public parking lots and street parking are available. Please respect neighbouring businesses and residences. Do not occupy or utilize private parking spaces nearby

• Free Parking: Behind Mount Pleasant Community Centre and around Dude Chilling Park
• Paid Parking: Easy Park Parkade, Broadway & Main (South East corner), Mount Pleasant Community Centre (underground parking lot), Main & 6th

• Please arrive at least 30 minutes but no more than 1 hour before the audition start time for check-in and individual warm-up

Small Children(Ages 6-7)

• Little Mice, Little Lambs, Small Reindeer, Small Party Children

Tall Children(Ages 8-10)

• Clara, Fritz, Party Children, Gingerbread Doll, Small Reindeer, Soldiers, Small Angels, Dragonflies, Besos

Intermediate(Ages 11+ | Not yet completed RAD Intemediate/ equivalent)

• Clara, Fritz, Party Children, Soldiers, Small Angels, Dragonflies, Besos, Tall Reindeer, Cavalry, Giant Mice, Cha

Senior(Completed RAD Intermediate/ equivalent *Minimum Requirement*)

*Gymnastics & Adult Auditions*

• Alternate Audition Date – Summer 2026 (Dates and Times TBA)

DRESS CODE

Please select ONE (1) of the dress code options required for your audition:

Additional Requirements:

• Tights and ballet slippers should match in colour
• Hair should be neatly styled away from the face, long hair should be secured in a classical bun
• Jewellery should be kept to a minimum (No watches and or accessories)
• Glasses and any visible piercings must be removed (tattoos must be covered or removed)
• Pointe shoes may be worn for the Intermediate and Senior auditions (11 years+)

REHEARSAL COMMITMENTS (Mandatory)

All cast members who are accepted to perform in Goh Ballet’s The Nutcracker are required to attend our mandatory casting call and all rehearsals.

Casting Call Date: September 2026 (TBA)
Rehearsal Dates: Commencing mid-September 2026 until the conclusion of our production

• Children, Junior, Intermediate Dancers: Sundays
• Senior Dancers: Friday afternoons/ evenings AND Sundays
• In-Studio Rehearsals:
  Sep 13th – Dec 13th, 2026
  Goh Ballet Academy
• Production Week Rehearsals:
  Dec 14th – 20th, 2026
  Queen Elizabeth Theatre

Important Notes:

• Roles may be relinquished from dancers not in attendance, as a result of missed mandatory rehearsals advised
• All cast members MUST be available, and attend any required rehearsals, as well as for the duration of our production week

PRODUCTION FEE

Dancers who are cast in Goh Ballet’s The Nutcracker are required to pay a Mandatory Non-Refundable Production Fee of CAD $395.00 + gst. The production fee following sucessful audition assessments supports:

• Rehearsals, performances, costume fittings, alterations, hair/headpieces

*Additional costs may apply for certain roles, including required shoes and enhanced makeup items. Further costume fees may apply depending on role requirements.*

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

• All tickets are Non-Refundable
• No refunds will be provided for any cancellations and or no-shows
• Registered auditionees must inform Nutcracker@GohBallet.com as soon as possible to advise of any cancellations or missed auditions

Important Notes:

• Casting in Goh Ballet’s The Nutcracker is not guaranteed. Roles are also not guaranteed
• A make-up audition may be scheduled later in the year, however – this is not guaranteed
