Audition – While the Others Go Wild 4, by João Cidade

João Cidade is looking for queer London based performers for the creation and presentation of the the 4th version of the work ‘‘While the Others Go Wild’. This fourth version of the work will be its first wholly Queer iteration.

The applicants must:
– be professional performers;
– identify as queer;
– reside in London;
– have genuine interest in Cidade’s work;
– have a dance/movement/circus background;
– and be comfortable delivering/working with text

Cidade will work closely with the selected group from 02.03.2020 until 18.03.2020 generating new material as well as reworking ideas from previous versions of the piece. The premiere of the new version will be on 19.03.2020 in London, at the Rich Mix, as part of And What? Queer. Arts. Festival. 2020.

This is a paid opportunity.
Each performer will be remunerated with a fee of 1200£ for the overall project incl. performance day. This project is subject to funding. In the eventuality of not securing the necessary funding both creation and presentation of the project will be reviewed. Applicants will only be invited to auditions after the results of the funding application is known – however, we would like to gather applications ahead of this to allow for selection and auditions to happen in good time.
