Backhausdance, Southern California’s critically-acclaimed contemporary dance company, is seeking male identifying dancers for its 2021-2022 season.

Backhausdance, Southern California’s critically-acclaimed contemporary dance company, is seeking male identifying dancers for its 2021-2022 season. Strong modern technique with a solid ballet background is required. Audition will be video submission with in-person call backs. Submissions should include a short contemporary ballet barre, modern phrasework, and improvisation. All media should be submitted by August 21st.

We are strong advocates for inclusivity and celebrate diversity of people, perspectives, and ideas. Dancers of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

VIDEO AUDITION GUIDELINES

Footage should be between 3 and 5 minutes in length and include the following:
Brief Self-Introduction: Name, Brief Description of Previous Training
Technique Samples: Barre or Center Work (Plies, Tendus, Extensions, Across the Floor Progressions of Turns and/or Jumps, etc)
Phrasework Sample(s): Variations, Improvisations and/or Choreography
Media should be submitted by August 21st.

Video submissions must be received by or before August 21th. Include password in your email if needed to view your submission.
