A choreographic workshop for dancers who wish to take up the challenge and expand their artistic and technical qualities.

A choreographic workshop for dancers who wish to take up the challenge and expand their artistic and technical qualities.
The sessions include a warm-up to explore the Floorwork technique and work on the weight of the body between balances, imbalances and off-axis movements, and a second phase on improvisation and composition work. The different qualities of movement, space and the relationship with music in the composition as well as the study of the dance score will be further investigated.
Splash will be an opportunity to obtain tools and new ways to develop one’s own artistic language.
Born in Sicily but French by adoption, Emilio Calcagno arrived in Cannes, France, in 1989, at the Rosella Hightower International Centre, and then went to the National Centre of Contemporary Dance in Angers.
In 1995, he joined Ballet Preljocaj as a performer and later became the director of educational activities. He founded his own company in 2006, Compagnie Eco/Emilio Calcagno, supported by the Ministry of Culture (DRAC Picardie) and the Haut de France Region.
Regularly invited by numerous organisations as a teacher, choreographer and member of the jury (Scenario Pubblico – Catania, CNSM – Lyon, Centre National de la Danse – Pantin, Centre Chorégraphique de Tunis, Teatro di Pisa – Pisa, etc.), Emilio Calcagno has been the director of dance at the Opéra Grand Avignon since September 2021.
The workshop is designed for dancers at an intermediate/advanced level. A CV is required for knowledge.
