Description

WHAT IS IT?

ConnectLAB is a 9 day long festival, where partnering work is the main focus. Looking at developing skills towards becoming a more responsive, skilled and open movement partner. Workshops from various disciplines take place, led by highly experienced teachers of their fields. Workshops include Contemporary dance, Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu, Circus, Fighting Monkey, Forro and Contact Improvisation to name a few. Alongside the workshops, there are performances, parties, jams, battles and a few hidden surprises.

ConnectLAB #5 takes place from 4th – 12th June 2020. The workshops run during the full length of the festival.

The Connecting Worlds Performance Night takes place on Thursday 11th June.

WHERE IS IT?

The 5th edition of ConnectLAB takes place in the brand-new, freshly renovated, Tic-Tac Art Centre, in Brussels, Belgium. This beautiful new space has only very recently opened and offers a HUGE space to move as well as showers, kitchen, changing rooms etc. You won’t be lacking in space!

WHO IS IT?

ConnectLAB is open to anyone from a movement background, be you dancers, martial artists, athletes, circus performers or whatever else. We actively encourage people of contrasting training to work together to share expertise and knowledge.


Come join us for the 5th edition of the ConnectLAB Festival. Nine intense days dedicated to partnering work. We have workshops from various disciplines including Contemporary dance, Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu, Fighting Monkey, Forro and Contact Improvisation. We’ve gathered a truly amazing team of artists, performers, athletes and teachers to share their knowledge in an effort to lift everyones game and learn from each other.

The teachers for ConnectLAB #5 are:

Marion Sparber & Alan Fuentes-Guerra – Kristina Alleyne – German Jauregui – Natalia Pieczuro – Luke Jessop – Knut Vikstrom Precht & Lito Anastasopoulou – Axel Vankimmenade – Hugh Stanier – Sarah Collings

Workshops run most days from 10am – 6pm, so full days of work. Then in the afternoons/evenings, the entertainment starts…

Alongside the workshops we have a whole host of other activities during the festival including, an open jam, an all-styles battle, an in house Jiu-Jitsu tournament, parties and last but not least…Connecting Worlds Performance Night. An evening running inline with the ethos of ConnectLAB festival, bringing together multiple disciplines to share their craft in a more performance based context.
